Saturday, 30th

10.00 - 16.00       Pianothon at the Florence Cafe, Bradbeers, Romsey

Around 100 young pianists will play the courtyard of the Florence Cafe at Bradbeers in the centre of Romsey.  Enjoy a coffee whilst listening to talented young pianists of all ages, playing their favourite solos and duets from grades 1 to 8.

11.00 - 16.00        Learn to Play Day at Hayes Music in Latimer Walk, Romsey

If you or one of your family have ever thought about playing an instrument, here is your chance to give it try!  Please call in to Hayes Music’s shop or call them on 02380 860889 to book a time on the day.

Sunday, 1st

Mayor’s Picnic in the Memorial Park, Romsey

This annual event is a real favourite for local people.  There are performances throughout the afternoon, including at 3.45pm when the Mountbatten Big Band take to the bandstand.  Around 4pm they will be joined by around 100 primary age students for the the Mountbatten pBone Project Brass Blowout!

Monday, 2nd                   

10.00 - 12.00      Schools String Spectacular in The United Reform Church, Romsey

Aimed at the town’s young string players, this session will be run by Jane Kane, Head of Strings at the prestigious Cheam School, Newbury.  We invite string players of approximately grade 2-5 to take part in this workshop, which will culminate in a short concert at 11.30am.  A further concert will take place at Poppies Cafe in Timsbury, near Romsey, at 4pm.

Thursday, 5th

15.30        Rownhams School Brass Ops Concert

The turn of Rownhams School to show off 60+ Young brass players giving it their all!

Friday, 6th

15.30 - 16.30   Music @ Mottisfont, Mottisfont Abbey

The final event of this year’s Festival is a celebration of the young talented musicians from local schools in the beautiful setting of Mottisfont Abbey.

17.45        Choral Evensong, Romsey Abbey

The Romsey Abbey Boys Choir (and the Adult Choir) will be singing at this service.

19.00        Romsey School Summer Concert

The annual Romsey School Summer Concert will feature performances by talented young musicians. There will be performances by a number of ensembles and choirs, as well as soloists.

15.30 - 16.30      Music @ Mottisfont, Mottisfont Abbey

Our second visit to Mottisfont Abbey features more talented young musicians playing in the courtyard of the Stables Cafe.

Wednesday, 4th                 

15.45        Cupernham Junior School Brass Ops Concert

Come and listen to around 80 enthusiastic young brass players being put through their paces by specialist brass teachers from Mountbatten Music Academy.

19.00        Mountbatten Music Academy Summer Concert, Romsey Abbey

The annual Summer Concert from the Mountbatten Music Academy again features performances by around 200 young musicians with an opportunity for the school to say goodbye to this year’s cohort of talented Year 11 musicians.  Tickets available from

Come and experience the sheer joy and enthusiasm of 60+ Young brass players giving it their all!
